Level A1 objectives:
- Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases.
- Can introduce yourself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where someone lives, people
they know and things they have.
- Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Welcome! Our French for Travel course is a beginner course ideal for anyone wanting to start their journey of learning the French language,
planning to travel to a French speaking country or wanting to refresh their learning of the very basics of the language.

This course is for students who have completed level A1 or placement test. With a focus on daily life, this course will teach you to communicate about your routine, chat about your work, organise outings in French and accept or refuse someone else's invitation. Students will also learn some geographical, cultural and historical aspects of France and French life. Students will put their learnings into practice through conversation, regular writing and homework.
Term 4 2023 will commence at Unit 16 of Vite et bien 1.

You are no longer a beginner learner of French and are ready to move to the intermediate courses. You will gain a deeper understanding of
French vocabulary and grammar and expand your knowledge of the cultural aspects of France. Put your learnings into practice through
conversation, regular writing, homework and role plays.
Level B1 objectives:
- Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
- Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
- Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
- Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

The focus of this course is to build on your French grammar and develop more complex language structures, while enhancing your
French-speaking skills with discussions and debates on a variety of subjects such as current affairs and cultural topics.
Level B2 Objectives:
- Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of
specialisation.
- Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain
for either party.
- Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and
disadvantages of various options.
