It is that time of year when the crisp winter air is filled with the smell of smokey chimneys, when we delight in wearing the cosiest clothes, and when we indulge on hearty home-cooked meals.
But for French people July is synonymous with summer, and Bastille Day - le 14 juillet - is always celebrated outdoors with family and friends, wrapped up with colourful fireworks illuminating the skies all over the country.
The Alliance Française de Toowoomba is pleased to invite you to its own take on the celebration, and would like to share the warmth of French culture at the 2016 Bastille Day Fête with you:
Sunday 17 July
At The Masonic Centre (Neil Street - next to the Empire Theatre)
We will savour French cuisine complemented by specifically selected wine, and will be charmed by Kay Sullivan's mesmerising accordion music. Come dressed in the colours of the French flag, and you'll be sure to meet French and French-speaking people happy to comment on your high sense of Parisian fashion! The fête will be a day of fun and entertainment in true French manner.
Book your ticket now, compose a table with your friends, or jump on the opportunity to meet new faces. Spots are limited, please RSVP by Friday 8 July with your booking confirmation and payment to firstname.lastname@example.org
