Bonjour à tous
It is my pleasure to be writing to you as the new President of Alliance Française de Toowoomba. I would like to thank everyone who attended the AGM 2019. There were many attendees and it demonstrates to me that there are many people in the Toowoomba region who are very keen and dedicated to learning the French language and French culture.
AFT welcomes new members throughout the year and offers a variety of reasons why it pays to join. There are French classes for those who may be traveling to French-speaking countries in the near future; those who want to develop their ability to speak and those who enjoy the many social events which are planned throughout the year. Café Bla Bla is a wonderful opportunity to practice French with others at Kingfishers Café at 333 Spring Street, Toowoomba. I know how important it is to 'practice practice practice' a foreign language and to gain a little more confidence each week. Café Bla Bla is a great way to overcome the doubts or questions you may have. The next chance to 'Bla Bla' is from 10am Saturday 6 April ($5). Otherwise, please make a note in the diary for the first Saturday of each month. And, anyone is welcome to come along and 'Bla Bla'! Non-members are welcome. Please remember, Café Bla Bla is closed during the months of January and July.
I began learning French again this year after learning that AFT has native French-speaking teachers. When learning any language, it isn't just words but cultural nuances, phrases, expressions and much more which enriches the learning experience. I greatly appreciate the AFT teachers who offer much much more than just words!
I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the coming months.
Everyone is welcome at Laurel Bank Park (Herries St, Toowoomba) from 2-4pm.
Members $7, Non-members $10, Children under 10 are free.
RSVP by 12 February. More information is available from the event flyer below...
Join us this Saturday for the first Café Bla Bla of the year.
