Alliance Office, Margaret St
Saturday 14 September, 2:00 to 4:00 pm As we have recently purchased a large number of library resources we decided to host a small celebration at our library. We sent out an invitation to all our members via email and the members who dropped in to say "bonjour" enjoyed tasting the complimentary wines, cheeses and the delectable apple tarte while perusing the latest acquisitions. Members from the management committee as well as students and teachers became familiar with our increasing collection of holdings and borrowed a number of resources on the day such as books (some with audio CDs), DVDs, adult comics, magazines and recent French fiction - we purchased quite a few Harry Potter novels to mention but a few. We cater to readers at all levels and encourage everyone to read regularly, there is plenty of material to select. With the summer holidays fast approaching this is the time to plan what to read in the upcoming months. Take some time to rest and relax with a book, in the shade under a tree, in your garden or favourite spot in your home, or in the quiet evenings to wind down before sleeping. I always find time to read but for me the real problem can be in which language as I have four I need to keep up! With regular reading and listening (audio books or just the radio) I have managed to increase my vocabulary and improve my grammar, and I plan to continue, the mental exercise of learning a language has more benefits than one. Happy reading! ![]() Library Opening Times: Saturdays 14:00 to 16:00 Alliance Française de Toowoomba Library 221 Margaret Street, Toowoomba We would like to thank FAFA (Federation Alliances Françaises d'Australie) for the grant, and previous management committee members and donors (among others Jane Pollard) for sharing their books. |
