July is that time of year in Australia, when the crisp winter air is filled with the smell of smokey chimneys, when we delight in wearing the cosiest clothes, and when we indulge on hearty home-cooked meals.
But for French people July is synonymous with summer, and Bastille Day - le 14 juillet - is always celebrated outdoors with family and friends. This year, the Alliance Française de Toowoomba was delighted to have many guests sharing with us the warmth of French culture at the 2016 Bastille Day celberation held at the Masonic Centre. We savoured French cuisine complemented by specifically selected wine, and we were charmed by Kay Sullivan's mesmerising accordion music. Some intrepid diners came dressed in the colours of the French flag, and there was lots of entertainment in true French manner. See for yourself, browse the pics taken at the event! We have extended our RSVP to Monday 11 July! We still have some spots left at our 2016 Bastille Day Fête. Contact us now on info@frenchtoowoomba.com or 0400 280 690 to secure your place(s).
The big day is only a week away and we're getting excited about what we've got planned for a great afternoon of French food and French culture! Head over to our facebook page to read about some of the prizes that will be on offer. |
