ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING to be held at the Metro Café on Sunday, 16 March 2014, at 1:30 pm.
The Annual General Meeting of the Alliance Française de Toowoomba Inc. will be held in the upstairs function room of the Metro Café, with drinks and canapés provided on Sunday 16 March. This is a great opportunity for you to meet, catch up, and provide feedback to the Committee on what you would like to see the Alliance do for its members in 2014.
Please note that all Committee positions will be open for election. We encourage you to attend the AGM and also consider joining the Management Committee to have your say in the running and organisation of the Alliance. We are very fortunate to have the services of a most capable member who fulfils the role of Administrative Assistant, thus lightening the workload of Management Committee members.
The Alliance Française de Toowoomba Constitution does not limit the number of Management Committee members. But it does require nominations to be in writing and lodged with the Secretary at least 14 days before the AGM. There is a further provision for nominations to be accepted from the floor of the meeting if there are insufficient candidates.
The AGM is an important part of the year for our organisation. Last year we had the embarrassing task of having to reconvene the AGM because of insufficient attendance to constitute a quorum. Please make a determined effort to be present.

There are many benefits to joining the Committee. As a member of the Committee you can further improve your French, help provide leadership and assist in the building of a very dynamic community group. Please take the time to review the role of each member of the Committee. The attached document highlights the planning focus for committee members. Involvement by more members in the Committee not only shares the load, but widens the scope of ideas for future activities and events. We look forward to your participation!
