Beginner A1.1(B)

TERM COURSES

This course continues the learning of the very basics of the French language.  You will already know how to greet others (Bonjour!), introduce yourself and someone else, give and ask for information (name, address, telephone number...). Term 3 will begin at Unit 6 of BBC Talk French 1.  Students will learn how to make enquiries, ask for directions, make a reservation and order a meal.

Beginners A1.2

TERM COURSES

Already have some basic knowledge of the French language and have completed A1.1 or placement test?  Continue your journey here. In term 3 students will begin with revision of grammar and vocabulary and continue on at Unit 16 of Vite et bien 1.  You will learn simple communication used in "l'entreprise", learn about "le bricolage" and explore "les adjectifs démonstratifs" and "le pronom personnel".  As well as the textbook students will learn through conversation and various media, such as exercises, DVDs and handouts.


Pace: 1.5 hours per week for 8 weeks
Elementary / Élémentaire A2

Elementary A2.1

TERM COURSES

This course is for students who have completed level A1 or placement text.  Term 3 will begin with revision of grammar and vocabulary and continue on at unit 19 of Vite et bien 1.  Students will learn about  'la fac' and 'Erasmus' and continue their learning of French vocabulary; explore 'le passé récent' and 'pronoms relatifs'; and learn some geographical, cultural and historical aspects of France and French life.  As well as the textbook students will learn through role play, conversation, handouts and videos.


Pace: 1.5 hours per week for 8 weeks
Intermediate / Intermédiaire B1

Intermediate B1.1

TERM COURSES

This course is for students who have completed level A2 or placement text.  Share your memories and go travel the world. Learn more about the adjectives to make detailed descriptions, study the conditional to express your intentions and wishes, and explore the imparfait in more depth. In term 3 students will continue their study starting at unit 2 of the Vite et bien 2 textbook, as well as learning through conversation, understanding audio documents and videos, regular writing homework and role plays.



Pace: 1.5 hours per week for 8 weeks
Upper Intermediate / Intermédiaire supérieur B2

Upper Intermediate B2.1

TERM COURSES

The focus of this course is to build on your French grammar and develop more complex language structures, while enhancing your French-speaking skills with discussions and debates on a variety of subjects such as current affairs and cultural topics.  Term 3 will begin at unit 17 of Vite et bien 2 (arts et littérature). As well as the textbook students will learn through conversation, understanding audio documents and videos, regular writing homework and role plays.


Pace: 1.5 hours per week for 8 weeks
